Almond Farmland Investment

Geographically, the Almond is a natural plant that grows within the region that we live. The Almond has massive importance within the Agricultural, Forestry and Food sectors. Whilst many new Almond Orchards have been planted within Turkey in recent years, there remains an increasing domestic demand. To meet this demand, we have no other choice than to continue importing them. In 2020, 27,664 tons of Almonds were imported from other countries. When we include the 15% Customs Duty, these imported Almonds generated income of $123,311,000. As with all commodities, supply and demand is a crucial factor prior to investing. When we evaluate Almond production within our country, we can clearly see that there is a great demand for more.

This exciting, new investment opportunity will increase home grown Almonds. It will eventually allow our country to fulfil our own Almond demands, rather than having to keep importing them. In addition, over time, we will have more Almonds that we need for ourselves, so we will be able to start exporting them. This is a very important goal to aim for, as it will generate valuable foreign currency for Turkey. When we also consider the production and export potential of hard-shell fruits with high substitute properties for Almonds, (such as Pistachio and Walnuts) it is easy to see that Turkey can benefit greatly.

There is no doubt that Turkey can be global leaders in the Almond market. With a well designed and common marketing strategy we can certainly achieve this. When we consider the long-term storage benefits of these products, it is vital that we continue to establish Almond Orchards.
